Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimasi formulasi sediaan masker peel-off berbahan aktif ekstrak daun mangga gedong (Mangifera indica L.) menggunakan metode Simplex Lattice Design (SLD). Ekstrak daun mangga gedong dipilih karena kandungan senyawa aktifnya berupa flavonoid yang memiliki potensi sebagai antioksidan. Formula masker peel-off dibuat dengan memvariasikan konsentrasi bahan pembentuk gel, yaitu polivinil alkohol (PVA), hidroksipropil metilselulosa (HPMC), dan gliserin, sesuai dengan desain SLD. Sediaan masker peel-off diuji sifat fisik meliputi pH, daya sebar, waktu kering dan viskositas. Respon dari uji sifat fisik diolah hingga memperoleh formula optimum. Sediaan optimum di diuji sifat fisik dengan organoleptis, homogenitas dan stabilitas. Hasil uji sifat fisik sediaan optimum diverifikasi dengan metode sample t-test menggunakan aplikasi SPSS. Hasil optimasi formula diperoleh konsentrasi PVA 10% dan HPMC 2%. Sediaan optimum masker peel-off daun mangga gedong berwarna bening, bentuk kental dan aroma yang lemah, bahan tercampur homogen, nilai pH dengan rata-rata 4,56, nilai daya sebar dengan rata-rata 7 cm, nilai waktu kering dengan rata-rata 15 menit, viskositas dengan rata-rata 9767 cps. Stabilitas sediaan menunjukkan terdapat perubahan warna menjadi bening kekuningan akibat penyimpanan gel pada suhu 400C. Sifat fisik sediaan masker peel-off tersebut memenuhi syarat sediaan gel. Sediaan optimum memiliki sifat fisik yang tidak berbeda signifikan dengan prediksi pada software Design Expert 13.

 

This study aims to optimize the formulation of peel-off mask preparations with active ingredients of gedong mango leaf extract (Mangifera indica L.) using the Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) method. Manigifera indica L. leave extract are contains active compounds in the form of flavonoids which have potential as antioxidants. Optimization of the preparation was carried out using the filming agent PVA and gelling agent HPMC with the aim of determining the optimum formula and physical properties of the peel-off mask preparation. Eight pre-formulated peel-off mask preparations were determined using the SLD (Simplex Lattice Design) method with the Design Expert 13 software application. The peel-off mask preparations were tested for physical properties including pH, spreadability, dry time and viscosity. The response from the physical properties test is processed to obtain the optimum formula. The optimum preparation was tested for physical properties with organoleptic, homogeneity and stability. The result of the physical properties test of optimal formula were verified by using sample t-test method with SPSS software. The results of formula optimization obtained a PVA concentration of 10% and HPMC 2%. The optimum preparation for Mangifera indica L. leaf peel-off mask is clear in color, thick in shape and has a weak aroma, homogeneous mixed ingredients, pH value with an average of 4.56, spreadability value with an average of 7 cm , the value of dry time with an average of 15 minutes, viscosity with an average of 9767 cps and stability with cycling test that there was a change in color to clear yellowish due to storing the gel at hot temperatures. The physical properties of the peel-off mask preparation meet the requirements for a gel preparation. The physical properties of the optimum preparation were not significantly different from predictions in the Design Expert 13 software.
